Happy St Brigid’s Day.
Pupils and staff of St Brigid’s PS attended morning Mass in Our Lady of Mercy Church on 1st February to mark the feast day of their patron saint.
A number of children participated in the Liturgy as readers and in the Offertory Procession. The school choir added so much to the Mass of celebration.
Primary 1 children dramatised the story of St Brigid in a confident manner to the delight of the assembled congregation. Fr Graham expressed his thanks to Miss Cassidy and Miss McAlister the Primary 1 teachers and to Classroom Assistants Amanda, Cathy, Anne, Tracey and Christine for all their hard work in preparing the children.
Under the direction of Master Kelly and Jane MC Nally every pupil in the school had made a St Brigid’s Cross, these were blessed at Mass and some were given to parishioners after Mass.
Fr Graham also blessed the St Brigid’s medals a gift for every pupil in the school from the Parish of Lavey to mark St Brigid’s PS 50th anniversary.
Remember that St Brigid brings the Spring so we all hope for better weather!
