'Good Relations Week' Coffee Morning
To mark 'Good Relations Week' we joined with our cross-community partners, Knockloughrim PS, to host a Coffee Morning at the Lavey Termoneeny Centre. It was decided that all funds raised would be donated to Mac Millan Cancer Support. Our School Councillors and some other pupils were on hand to meet-and-greet the members of the public who attended. Instrumental music was provided Miss Laura Bradley (PGCE student teacher in St. Brigid's PS). In addition to the buns baked by our pupils, we were delighted to receive donations from Mc Erlain's Bakery, Sperrin Bakery and Genesis. Thank you to all the companies for their generosity in supporting this wonderful cause.
Thanks to Sperrin Bakery for the beautiful Mac Millan cake which was raffled at the Coffee Morning. The winner, Mrs Trea Magill, in the spirit of good relations, shared it equally between the pupils of Knockloughrim and St. Brigid's- much to the delight of her granddaughter Cataleya!
The amount raised by the large crowd who attended as £742.
Because of the quantity of lovely cakes and buns we have received as donations, we at very short notice, organised a cake sale for those parents who called at school at 2pm and 3pm. This raised an astonishing £313.52
This fantastic total of £1055.52 will be given to Mac Millan Cancer Support. We cannot thank everyone enough for their kindness, generosity and support of our children's efforts to mark 'Good Relations Week.'
Well done everyone!
