Nollaig na mBan

6th Jan 2025

In Ireland, January 6th is often referred to as Nollaig namBan, or Women's Christmas. It is recognised as the last day of the Christmas season. Traditionally a day where gender roles are swapped, the women of the house get a 'day off' to relax and meet up with friends while the men take on their duties. Here’s hoping that all the Lavey mums and carers were able to put their feet up!

On 6th January we also celebrate the feast of the Epiphany, when pupils from P3 – P7 joined parishioners at morning Mass, with pupils carrying up the Offertory Gifts.

On this last day of Christmas, we want to thank all our parents and pupils for the generous gifts which we have received.

Sincere thanks from every member of staff for your generosity – it is truly appreciated.

Congratulations also to our lucky Christmas Raffle winners!

We started Term 2 with Mass in our Parish Church, praying for peace. May 2025 be a peaceful, successful year for all of our school community.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
