Primary 7 celebrate World Children’s Day
World Children’s Day is a powerful reminder of the role we all play in creating a better future for the youngest members of our global family. Celebrated annually on 20 November, this day marks the adoption of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child (1959) and the Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989). St Brigid's is proud to have Rights Respecting Schools status.
This year’s World Children's Day theme, “Listen to the Future,” encourages us to actively listen to children, honour their right to self-expression, and integrate their voices into shaping our actions. Upholding children’s rights is not only a moral obligation but also a path to building a fairer, more inclusive world for generations to come.
As workers in education, we have the privilege and responsibility to advocate for children’s rights and inspire others to do the same. Let’s celebrate their ideas, amplify their voices, and work towards a future where every child is valued, protected, and empowered.
Together, let’s stand up for children’s rights and listen to their vision for a better tomorrow.
