What a busy day in St Brigid’s PS yesterday! We were delighted to welcome Education Minister Peter Weir to our school. Mr Weir and his colleagues from the Department of Education listened to all our issues with regard to the poor state of accommodation in the school. We have an amazing caretaker Paddy Breen, who with his trusty team, work so hard to maintain the building and grounds to such a high standard.
We had strong representation from the Board of Governors who made the case that it makes sense to build a new school rather than renovate a flat roof building which is almost fifty years old!
In Lavey, we are blessed to have our fabulous sports facilities and beautiful church. Our children deserve to have a good school building which is fit for purpose in the 21st century.
We have a dedicated, talented and committed staff who work so hard to provide top quality education in difficult circumstances.
We are grateful to Sean Mc Peake for arranging the visit and we are hopeful that our future is bright.
