WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY FRIDAY 21ST MARCH - ROCK YOUR SOCKS!

19th Mar 2025
World Down Syndrome Day is marked each year on 21st March. The 21st day is chosen to signify the uniqueness of the triplication of the 21st chromosome which causes Down Syndrome. The theme of World Down Syndrome Day 2025 is all about support, so we are asking all our parents, community members to call upon the government to #Improve Our Support Systems!

On Friday 21st March we are asking pupils to 'rock their socks' - decorate their socks, wear odd socks whatever they choose. The idea arose because chromosomes are shaped like socks and individuals with Down Syndrome have an extra chromosome. We are advocating for the rights, inclusion and wellbeing of people with Down Syndrome in schools, communities, and all across the world.
